Well here we go again

The 23/24 season has started with our opening day which took place on Saturday 2 September. We have started to distribute the new season syllabus and if you missed getting your copy on the opening day; don’t worry they will be available to collect whenever you visit the club.

Larry Donahue’s training sessions will resume on a monthly basis on Fridays starting at 3.00pm on the following dates:

  • Friday 15 September
  • Friday 13 October
  • Friday 17 November
  • Friday 1st December
  • Friday 19 January
  • Friday 16 February

Larry’s first sessions were well attended and much appreciated – I’m sure we all look forward to his future training sessions.

CSBC club events have started – the first to kick off (or should I say bowl off) is the Men and Women’s 2 Bowl singles. The draw has been made and is on the match committee room notice board. The entry forms for the mixed are also on the notice board. We ask that you get started on your games asap to ensure we meet the scheduled final days. This is so important for any of the pairs matches as getting four players available is more difficult to organise. And a reminder that you need to organise a marker for all your singles games.

Our Mixed Triples Championship event takes place on Sunday 24 September – with the entries opening Wednesday 6/9. Just a reminder that is single name entries and the selection committee have the job of organising teams using members handicaps.

We are hosting the GBR Women’s Over 60’s event on Sunday 1st October at 10.00am. At this stage, up to 14 markers, male or female, will be required for the morning matches. If you are able to assist, please contact Marilyn Fisk.
