Women’s Indoor Finals
‘Women’s Champion of Champions’ for the third time — Judy Barras.
It was an exciting finish to the season with the final four in the three Divisions not settled until the final bowl of the night on Round 7. CSBC team 1 in Division 2 maintained an unbeaten season with 6 wins and draw to finish 1st. Teams 2 and 3 finished 5th in their divisions. Matt Flapper commented this is the first season that all 6 clubs will be represented in finals; great to see.
Semi Finals Monday 31st July featured:
Division One: Ocean Grove 3 vs Drysdale 1, Drysdale 2 vs St Leonards 2
Division Two: Clifton Springs 1 vs Ocean Grove 4, Ocean Grove 5 vs Drysdale 3.
Division Three: Leopold 3 vs Lifestyle 2, Lifestyle 3 vs Ocean Grove 6
Ocean Grove 4 was defeated 25-11 by CSBC Team 1 to go to the grand final on August 7 at Leopold.
Grand Finals and Presentations will be held Monday 7th August at Leopold.
14 players competed for CSBC throughout the season and all enjoyed the competitiveness and friendships we developed. Our internal Singles Championship events were won by Ian Robinson and Judy Barras who then went on to compete against the Champions from other clubs. Eventually, Judy Barras took out the “Women’s Champion of Champions” title for the third time.
We are very grateful to the Senior Citizens Association for their hospitality in allowing us to play indoor and pennant bowls at the Drysdale Hub. Special thanks to President Di Robertson, Secretary Paul Taylor and Treasurer Jan Taylor.
